Program management as a discipline has recently seen an increased interest by organizations trying to achieve their organizational strategies through projects. According to the Project Management Institute (PMI), organizations are far more successful in achieving project objectives if they have a mature program management system in place. In 2017, PMI released its 4th edition of The Standard for Program Management. This standard, like PMI’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) and Standard for Project Management, is a compilation of generally recognized good practices for Program Management.

Throughout the presentation, John will relate the principles of the Standard to his experiences at LANL and as a Baldrige examiner.
